Gender Faultline Strength on Boards of Directors and Strategic Change: The Role of Environmental Conditions

Drawing on the notion of “faultlines” and upper echelons perspective, we argue that gender faultline strength a board directors is negatively related to strategic change. More interestingly, while relates change under low levels environmental complexity, dynamism, munificence, it positively when munificence are at high levels. The analyses panel data 5781 firm-year observations 1171 Chinese firms provide support for hypotheses.
